Graduation!

Yea!! I finally graduated with my Masters in Social Work. We went to Anchorage for my graduate hooding ceremony which is when I officially become a Masters level Social Worker. The Dean of the College of Health and Social Welfare places the hood over my shoulders. The hood has the colors of the University of Alaska, Anchorage as well as the colors of my college. It was a pretty awesome experience!

We had brunch at a really nice restaurant in downtown Anchorage and we ate the Brewhouse...one of the best restaurants in Anchorage! We also saw a huge herd of caribou on our way back to Fairbanks

Charity Walk

My agency, Resource Center for Parents and Children, participated in a charity walk on Friday evening. The goal was to raise money for local charities and non-profits. We walked 2.5 miles and stopped along the way at booths from various organizations and restaurants in town who provided us with food. It was a fun time for a good cause!

Anchorage May 09

Here are a few shots from our recent trip to Anchorage for my graduation. We stopped on the way down and on the way back at Rose's Cafe in Healy for breakfast and dinner. It is super yummy! Check out the size of the pancake they give you!! We had a beautiful drive down and Denali was out the whole time. Molly had a great time as well and did very well on the drive down. As you can see, she cannot stay in the back; she always has to be a part of whatever is going on! Graduation pictures are to come!

Baby Shower

I am very thankful to the friends who threw me such a wonderful baby shower. It was so much fun! Gracie received many awesome gifts that I know she will put to good use!

Dog Sled Videos

Open North Championship

Tara and I went to the Open North Championship Dog Sled race this weekend. They have been doing this race for 63 years. The race begins in downtown Fairbanks and they close off the streets so the teams can race through town. It was pretty fun to watch!

First Baby Furniture

Tara and I successfully put our first piece of baby furniture together last night...Gracie's dresser and changing table! I filled it up today with Gracie's clothes and blankets. We still have the crib to put together, but I think I will save that for Dad!

Molly's 1st Birthday

Last night we celebrated Molly's 1st Birthday! Molly's friend Oscar and a few of my friends came over to celebrate. Molly got lots of presents...a couple of chew toys, a new ball and two bones. It was lots of fun!

This weekend we went to the Chatanika Days 30th Annual Outhouse Races. Tara, Josh and Christina participated in the Human Ice Bowling Competition. Here is Josh pushing Tara. The knocked over 7 pins! Go Tara!

Ice Fest 09

This year the Ice Fest was excellent! It was definitely cold though. The ice sculptures were awesome and Tara had fun going down the giant ice slides!
